I really loved SC, and SC:FA. However this just doesn't look as good and the reviews were far from positive.

I think I'll wait and see if they develop a version that isn't designed with the confines of consoles in mind.

SC:Original and FA were better than SC2 i feel.
SC2 just feels to easy and quick, were as SC & FA felt more challenging and engaging.
I was disappointed with SC2 but not as much as i might have been had i not read reviews, that said, i'll pick up the DLC for completeness and Monkey Lords

. just need to find a decent priced rig to play FA on..

The DLC adds more maps, units, buildings and changes to the tech tree ..... things have balanced out more and its better than SC2 vanilla. I would say the DLC is a must if you want SC2 to be as close to SC1 as possible.

think sup com dumbed down to c&c4 level and then some.

First RTS game I've seen since age of empires that didn't let you put units in formation.

That's right you're only option is "send blob of units here" you can't have them line up ina long thing line so they can all fire at once, or have the AA units behind the heavy tanks.

Also they don't even form up in a sensible manner half the time the square/blob ends up end on with only 1/3 of the units able to fire at once, until the target is far too close for comfort.

Basically buy supcom 1 + forged alliance for a much much much much much better game.
