Supreme Commander is making me angry

Always keep your commander well defended, shield generators are a must as are AA. There are a few levels where your commander can be wiped out though.

I loved Total Annihilation, but everything is jsut so small in SC, Is there any mods out there to make it like bigger?

yeah cant remember the name though, it's one of the big ones on file front etc.

Battle ships are massive, adds a few other changes as well.

You can play FA standalone, but theres some restrictions with it. I think its just for online play / P2P playing. You can only play as the seraphim, if you have both you can play as all 4 races. worth checking it out on the gpgnet forums.

I used to find it fun then it just gets to a stage where its all about how quickly you can get artility and nukes in numbers then its game over.

Such an extremely slow paced RTS, and FA runs way worse on my PC than the original, even in singleplayer/campaigns.

it's not slow paced if you watch some replays of online games, it;''s all about t1 rushing :D

Still if your at the stage here nukes are pretty regular then a few of forward (so that where the nukes will be aimed is behind the site) over lapping anti nuke sites, usually, one for each of their launchers will stop their nukes as they can build missiles faster than the nuke launchers.

Did once reach a point in the game against a AI where we had such good bases on islands, we where using nukes against single mass extractors outside of our main basses :p overkill ***.

won the game with a massive suicide attack on one shield dome and hit one of the t3 power genies there, which set off a chain reaction across half their base till it got the commander, thermonuclear holocaust is awesome :D

its good for a laugh offline but online is just a unit spam fest no strategy what so ever me prefers company of heroes

Supreme commander is the best way to kill time you won't even realise when you finished a mission that you've spent 3 hours already.

Just save regularly although the save game file size is just ridiculous - upto 70mb per save..

What gets me is that most noobs feel this way; instead they choose to by pass 70% of the games units in favour of spending 30 to 60 mins doing nothing  and then building an experimental or a nuke to attempt to end the game in a short 2 min slugging of nukes etc

The game is not just about T1, but most of the pros will end it in T1 as they are vicious and keep an offence up at all times. RTS that use resources mean you need to play a game of skirmish and attrition to win.
One of the things I like most about SupCom is that base defences are no match for an equal amount of mass/power in units. Meaning SupCom is not a turtles paradise.

The game is fought on the battlefield though tactics and strategy rather than at the back of the map in a sim city economy fest.
This is what determines a good RTS game for me. CoH does it, Starcraft does it and so does Supreme Commander.

noobs have to get out of the outdated C&C style of play and get their thinking caps on and react. Many many games get to T3, but T1 spam is where it is at because that is where you SHOULD be out of your base taking mass and energy from your opponents in order to get to T3
