I have just put together a new i7 build and was unaware of the included supremeFX x-fi. So inevitably, i ended up with two soundcards, my chosen option and the supplied card.

My question is what are the main differences between the two? i remember reading somewhere that the supremeFX only has the x-fi software. Had some troubles trying to install the software supplied with windows 7. Will the titanium be hindered by this at all? What are the main advtanages and disadvantages?

peace

soundblaster x-fi is technically the better card however the sumpremefx x-fi is a very good card to be included with the mobo (Asus I guess?) so if you can get it to work, then send the SB back for a refund.

Try downloading newer software from the net. It's unlikely the disc with the card has windows 7 drivers on it (or the latest at least)

IIRC the SupremeFX addin card is actually more akin to the audigy 4 than the X-Fi - tho not sure if that applies to all versions... still a good soundcard but IMO not as good as a proper X-Fi.

cheers

The disc supplied is for the rampage II extreme mobo, with the various drivers. Haven't had much luck with it, started downloading the drivers and such with almost no hiccups. The supremeFX isn't cooperating as I would like but it works

Been trying to make a quick sale off of the titanium but no takers, if it drops to much ill most likely save for another build.
