Sure Signal

I looked into it after changing from orange with UMA but there forum is full of problem threads with it so gave it a miss. Just getting it to work seems a problem for a lot of peeps it seems.

Count me into the happy customer club! :)

Can't fault the sure signal box, does what it's designed to do without fail. Full 3G signal all over the house!

If you have broadband, but only have a weak (or in my case virtually non-existant) mobile signal at home, and are on the Vodafone network, then so far as I am concerned it's a 'must have' gadget.

They had a few teething problems initially, but as has already been said, it seems to work just fine now.

Managed to get mine free initially also! :)

I got mine for free too :)
I'd just signed up to a £30pm HTC Desire contract and was possibly looking to cancel as the Vodafone signal was just rubbish in my house.
So they sent me one FOC to try and keep me.....and it worked.

The device is just excellent.
It was truly plug & play for me - I've read others having problems, but I just plugged it in, went onlint to register it and within 3hrs it was running.
I now get a full strength HSDA signal to my phone anywhere in my house and most of my garden.
My wife moved over to Vodafine a month ago so she now shares the same device.

We now don't use the landline for any outgoing calls - we both use our free minutes on our mobiles for everything.

I am pretty sure that it will only work with 3G phone, which most are these days anyway, and of course you can add other numbers, such as family and friends etc to it, so that when they visit, they can also have the benefit of good reception.

We got ours free - there's hardly any reception here until we got it - full signal indoors and outside too.
My htc seems to connect easily when I return home, but the missus Samsung phone sometimes has to be rebooted to get it to connect correctly.

Great bit of kit :)

Yes, they did bring out a new model a few weeks ago, which I think may come from a different manufacturer, although I have not read any reports regarding an improved (or indeed a worse!) performance.

Existing users who feel that they must have the latest model, can 'upgrade' for a payment of £20... if you are on a reasonable monthly contract, and talk to them nicely! ;)

From what I remember, the new one also has an additional network port.

According to Vodafone the "insides" of the two devices are more or less identical.
The forums don't indicate one is any better than the other.

The newer one is smaller, but no real point "upgrading" to it from the older one.
