Surely not right?

I'm running an E6600 at stock, with the stock Intel cooler. The temp sensors on my case are reading a cpu temp of 29 degrees.

Is this right? I'm used to seeing temps of 40+ with stock cooling.

Sounds about right for stock speeds.

Oh, OK. Installed Speedfan and it's reading the following:

System: 34
CPU: 25
AUX: 10
HDD: 33
CORE 1: 30
CORE 2: 31

Which means that the CPU is basically my room temperature at the moment.

They do run pretty cool at stock, especially if SpeedStep is enabled.

I have an E6400 at 3.2Ghz under a tuniq tower and at the moment it is idling at:

cpu = 27
core 1 = 31
core 2 = 33

so your temps look about right.

Your BIOS should have options to do so.
