Ok usual story... was on my computer... lights go of.. black out for about 20mins.....

i have two computers plugged in in my room... and i often of have black outs round here for some reason.

my first computer came on fine when the power was back, but my second (main) fails to.

its an e6600, p5w delux, 7950.

when i turn it on, the spans spin the light on the mother board comes on, the grfx card fans spin and the hard drives rumble.. but nothing..... nothing goes to the screen.. no beep... nadda....

:'-( whats happened ?

ahh!

Good reason for a UPS too, a surge protector will protect against spikes/surges but not against brown outs or total power failures.

Do a bare bones test where you take it all out your system, lay it on a static bag and test it that way.

Alittle off topic but Fa- I have alook at your site, amazing work you got there pal great images. Merry Christmas to you all.

I had this problem once after a power cut. Did a simple clear of the CMOS and it somehow fixed the problem. I guess its worth a try I spose...

check that none of the PSU connectors are burnt.
happened to me and i bought new components, as i was changing them out one of the PSU connectors onto the motherboard was burnt, however everything worked with a new PSU.

off topic but,
Looked at your site as someone mentioned above, very impressive, how did you learn to draw like that? Trying to get into drawing cartoon/manga style at the moment!

I just bought a ups, and its going well so far.. But the big test is a thunder storm,, do I trust the ups with my pc through a storm , Its a "Belkin 1200VA Universal Series UPS with AVR"

I wouldn't trust a Belkin UPS any day of the week.
If a thunderstorm is overhead it's best to switch off your PC even if you do have a UPS.

meh, still not fixed :(

does anybody know how to properly reset the CMOS on this MB ??

iv taken out the battery.. but im trying again... hopefully it works...

gonan take it to the repair man tomorrow and claim mitigation on all the work i needed to hand in this week at Uni :(

@ that comments about my site, thanks loads!! although its not been updated for months and months, and i have a lot of new work (and need to get rid of some **** on there) the comments are still very much appreciated!!

thanks!
