Hi folks.

Is it possible that a psu could deliver more than its intended voltage or power and actually blow a component?

If so, is it then possible to buy a psu which has surge protection built into it?

Thanks for any advice offered.

yes they are called generic PSU's or Q-tec PSU's

buy a decent PSU such as tagan/seasonic/ocz

Lol, oddly enough, its a q-tec that has done the deed!

When i started building systems about 3 years ago, qtec always seemed fine and never gave me problems.
Now, it seems every time i have an issue with a pc, its mostly with psu's and quess what.....its nearly always qtec's.

btw, i manage our network of 35 pc's i didn't build these ones :p
