i need one of these :-

reason i live in an x rented house and it has PAYG electric meter

sometimes i forget to get more electric, so it runs out :o

now this restarts my router and i lose all my tweaked settings

thus getting a lower BRAS profile

what i need is:-

batt backup
RFI/EMI filtering
surge-protected
Lan & dsl protection

cheers

I can't think of any UPS options that would give you long term battery backup.
Most small UPSs seem to be designed for say 15-20 minutes at low loads.
I may be wrong though and with just a router plugged in I guess it the battery could last a lot longer.

doesnt have to be long just enough time

to click on the emergency credit

takes about 3 mins tops

Note:
Telephone Cable OR Network Cable should be connected to Surge
Protection ports. Do not connect the UPS surge protection ports to both
Telephone and Network System cables at the same time.

what does that mean?

Slightly confusing wording as the spec shows this:

Datline Protection RJ-45 Modem/Fax/DSL/10-100 Base-T protection

Never seen a fax with RJ-45?!

Anyway I think what it is saying is that because there are actually two RJ-45 ports you can only use one for the actual equipment you want to protect the other is acting a pass through for the filtering.

So effectively it would be something like routers RJ-45 into APC then APC to PC etc.

yeah i would need it to protect my modem and lan cables, as my lan cables runs out side my house

Get the APC...

My Belkin is a PS... Not UPS.
(When power goes off, it turns off then on again after a second or so.)

NOT GOOD!

Both APC's I have are perfect.

It should power your router for 8 hours or so (if you are in work for example).

A 1000VA will power a laptop and stereo for 4 hours!
Routers take next to nothing to run.

so stay away from the belkin one then

can you get like surge protectors for just for LAN/DSl/phone/fax
