I`m just waiting for a new pc build to come home... :)

So was wondering what sort of surge protection I should get...

Would one of those 6 - 8 socket Belkin SurgeMasters do? This sort of thing or will I need something else?

Cheers...

(Hope this is posted in the right place... if not, apolls.)

If your going to be getting a surge protector get one with the phone line surge thingy in it also. I'v always found that fried modems are much more common in lightening storms etc.

(Although, having said that, we havnt had lightening in years - i think everyone had 56k modems up here last time. I dont know if ADSL is effected in the same way?)

any surge protected plug sockets will suffice...they are a must, so many boards and other bits get fried due to people not spending £8 - 10 to protect their pc's...

....that or if you have a little extra money to spare go get one of the entry level APC UPS for around £60-£70 which gives you battery backup for a few minutes too. I've got one that is a few years old now and it's well worth the money.
