surprise fantasy league players

yeah i got anelka in there too, Drog is doubtful for the first few games, and Anelka could fill his boots against West Brom. He'll be out on his ear as soon as Drog is back to 100% though :D
 
heh I'm wary of picking people from Birmingham as I think they'll struggle to match their superb form last season. That run of clean sheets they got on was epic, and to do that twice would be some feat, but all the best to them.

Charlie Adam of Blackpool might get a few points, he takes a mean set piece/penalty. But as much as I love 'Olly I'm expecting them to really struggle in the League, so I steered well clear of their players.

I wanted to pick a Liverpool defender because Fulham under Woy Hodgson were mighty defensively, but I decided against it in the end, as they're either too injury prone (skrtel, agger) or old (carra, kyrgiakos). In the end the only defensive 'surprises' I went for were Aaron Hughes of Fulham, who I hope will have some clean sheets in him, and Figueroa who might notch the odd goal/assist.
 
I think Charlie Adam will replace Geovanni as the little set piece king and so will weigh in with a few points i reckon but i wouldnt recommend putting in any blackpool or west brom defenders :p
 
I said to all my work colleagues before the beginning of last season that Darren Bent was going to be the bargain of the season. Happy to be proven right there and own the league!

Not sure about this season, but I think Bolton will have a good season, so have 3(!) of their players in my squad. Quite fancy Campbell at Sunderland too.
 
I really like Lee, he's a cracking little winger, thought long and hard about including him but I decided against it in the end. I am starting to worry that I picked too many players who scored highly last season and no 'wildcards'! damn this thread :D
 
I think Birmingham's clean sheets might have been helped by having Joe Hart in goal for them, which of course he won't be this time.
 
Darren bent would be good, except he is injured:/

what about Rodallenga? cheap and scores goals.

Hilario? will he play?

Ilunga could also prove decent.

Bellamy is he moves somewhere where he will play.
 
My only relatively unknown player is Lee from Bolton, he looks ace, had him in at the back end of last season too. Got Doyle and Jose Enrique in too but only 'cos I needed cheap players.

birmingham has a mean defence but no hart now foster is ****e but injured
so they only got taylor now seems a bit rubbish tho
what about joe cole?

Milner?

I'd put milner in but not sure if he is going to city and if he plays
any city players are a gamble cuz u dont know if they are gona start

then there is tevez as well
