Surprising MPG

45mpg from my last full tank in my 2.1TD Pug 406 with mixed driving.

Don't think thats bad really, I expected about 35mpg average when I got it. Certainly saving me money, as my MR2 was averaging about 27mpg with the same use.

I have seen 34 ish from my 911 on a london to sheffield run, I am quite surprised to be honest.

Maybe its broken or im just driving it wrong :D

My MX5 is awful. I drove this tank like a saint to see if it made any difference and nope, still 25mpg. Almost all stop start short urbanish journeys, but no matter how I drive, it's 25mpg. Managed 32 on a 250mile journey once.

Least when I move to something bigger the fuel bill won't kill me :D

My Fiesta ST is terrible for short trips. You're talking 25MPG or less if I drive it spiritedly. Anything slightly longer and I get 30-35+ easily though. Just depends on the car and the situation.

Chaps, we're missing something here. It's a 14yo CLK so it's probably shed half it's weight in rust. :p

My 30 year old 944 does 30mpg happily.

Unexpected, but logical given the relatively modern injection system and the lack of any power sapping emmision control.

You would think so wouldn't you, but actually someone had it treated in the past and resprayed, so there is only one minor patch on the front wing :)
