have my ps3 preordered. will be getting it on release day and thought id get a nice sound system to go with it. only thing is, i want to be able to use this with my pc also. i have an optical out on the pc but am not sure what there is audio wise on the ps3. if there is an optical out on the ps3, is this the best connection to use in terms of sound quality and is there any way i could connect this up so that i wouldnt have to keep unplugging from my pc to my ps3 and vice versa.

thanks guys

Go for the Logitech Z5450 wireless surround, brilliant sound, you get 2 optical, one digital and pc connections on it. They come up from time to time about £150, but i think most places have em for about £200 just now.

Really brilliant sound i used mine with PC, 360, DVD and SkyHD, all connected at the same time.

si wireless surround in what way, via infrared or bluetooth or what. is optical out the best connection to use for sound quality

Its Wifi i believe (although dont quote me on that), it does give spot on sound though. You plug the rear speakers into plug sockets for power.

If you dont mind the wires, then the 5500 is basically the same but with a bit more punch and wired rears, you cant beat wireless for tidyness though.

that sounds pretty good. you know if there is anything similar for a little less. not sure if i was looking to spend that much

I dont think there is, not with wireless rears anyway, im sure theres probably quite a few surround systems with multiple inputs with wired rears though.

this system looks really nice. do you ever get any kind of loss of sound, fuzziness etc due to it being wireless. so, with my ps3 for eg, it would just connect wirelessly?
