What do you guys reckon on my chances of getting this done under guarantee?

An upper suspension arm went on my Alfa 156. Basically it started creaking like a rusty door hinge. It was diagnosed by 3 garages but only one could get it in in a sensible time scale.

They happened to be the most expensive but the most local/convenient. They changed it and even called me to say they had test driven it and it was all fine. I was 100% happy with the work at the time.

Tonight/this morning the creak has returned, not quite as bad but very audible. I can only think it is a faulty part.

I will have to return it but I have the feeling I am going to get tucked up with a case of 'it has failed due to something else being wrong'. They apparently thoroughly checked everything else.

My argument is that if it was not the bush on that arm why did the creak go away for 2 weeks?

Are garages very good with guarantees on work done in general?

Maybe the other side has gone?? Does sounds like a dry suspension joint though.

The part will have a guarantee but it all depends on whether they'd be willing to change it and not charge the labour for doing it..

No definitely same side.

My fear is a faulty or cheap part (not OEM) may not be their fault it has failed but I don't want to spend out £90 on labour for something that isn't my fault either. The price of the part was the same as everyone, including specialists quoted me for OEM.
