I was downloading a file yesterday and as soon as I opened it it came up with a dialogue box "Please Restart Your Computer" I immediately closed the programme with task manager and closed some processes that I knew it had created, today after going to turn on my pc a warning box saying "are you sure you want to the file" pointing to a file called svchost.exe, in the directory C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft, this seemed so suspicious, I went to the directory and found the file called svchost.exe, It has the icon of something that has been programmed in visual basic, When I hover over it there is a lot of gibberish for the description and the company which just adds to the suspicion, any ideas, its almost certainly going to unleash an attack on my pc if i open it.

svchost is one of those files that if it's running outside of either the windows/system32 or windows/syswow64 folder (if I've remembered the 64-bit folder structure correctly) then it should be ringing severe alarm bells and should be dealt with straight away.

Ask one of the mods for clarification, it would seem a little excessive to want the 'up' to be censored also, but if them's the rules...
