In the new year I'm thinking about changing my Audi A5 Quattro TDI 67 plate with 65k miles for something a little higher off the ground. As much as I love the A5 I'm getting constant wife moans for being so low so thought I'd use the chance to look at an SUV but keep with something stylish and reliable

Ideally I'm after diesel, quattro or equivalent, good MPG and not going to get caught out with the new car tax rules

I've been looking at the Audi Q3 or Q5 sportbacks, BMW X4 or X5, VW Tiguan or Volve V60

They all have their good and bad points when I've looked on Autotrader but what is peoples feedback or recommendations? Would be greatly appreciated!

Depends what I can get part ex for my car but think budget would be £25-30k

Aren’t car taxes supposed to be having a big hit next year? Don’t want to be too affected by anything changing

I am in the same position.
On my list is.
Xc60 pretty much what I need but concerned about reliability, and a bit extra money.
CR-V ok but needs more power and the infotainment screen is terrible.
RAV 4 ok and probably the best option but there are security issues.
Skoda Kodiac looks good but the VW auto box is a bit suspect.

Its a nice position to be in for sure but with the cost of them, its about making the right choice! Don't want that kind of regret over me, like when I sold a VW golf mk4 years ago for a Renault Megane sport coupe - worst decision of my life, no idea why I thought that was a good idea at the time

I think I've narrowed down to either a BMW X3, X4 or a Audi Q5 - depends what I can get PX for my car as to my budget but seen some nice one around.

I always go for a car with a nice look and interior too but unfortunately the Tiguans and XC60 don't do it for me

Thats some good feedback thanks!
I've made an enquiry about a BMW X3 xDrive20d M Sport at a local BMW garage so I'll see what its like and what they offer for mine to see if its worth it.

I did look at the X1's but I didn't want to loose too much space if moving from the A5 so the X3 looked a good enough equivalent without going too big

Going to view a X3 xdrive20d M Sport on Wednesday with the tech pack
Feels like quite low mileage with only 28k for a 20 plate and looks tidy enough with some nice kit
