Whats the MPG on a Suzuki Alto 2005, I'm currently driving a Vauxhall Astra LS 1.4 2001, But the MPG is horrendous.

Define horrendous? Can't imagine an Alto being that much better.

If you do enough miles that MPG actually matters then an Alto will be shocking.

Think they are something like 50mpg if i remember correctly.
You would be better off sticking with your astra though because altos are terrible cars.

I assume your Astra has the 16v engine (I don't think there was an 8v 1.4 mk4). My 8v mk3 1.4 was horribly inefficient and if I drove it carefully would manage 35 on a really good run. The 16v is more fuel efficient, so I'd imagine 40ish mpg from that. An alto won't make that much of a difference IMO.

Heavy right foot?
Automatic Transmission?
All your miles around town?
Tyres need pumping up?

Not a heavy foot, Tyres are ok, I do live in glasgow Near town with a lot of traffic lights, So it might be that.

Still i think the alto is the choice at the moment :( shame.

The only time the Alto would ever be 'the choice' is in the following situation.

You are the sole survivor after a Nuclear holocaust. You are being chased by ravenous mutated beasts. You are about to be caught and, obviously, killed when you spot an abandoned Suzuki Alto miraculously with its engine running.

Do you:

a) Die
b) Take the Alto

As this situation seems different, the Alto is not the solution.
