first of all, i took a gamble on what section to put this thread in, as i have installed windows on my macbook white 2009, so sorry if this is the wrong place.

Anyway, i installed all the macbook drivers after windows 7 installation, but found that after installing wifi drivers, on reboot, svchost was using around 60,000kb, and the CPU was at 50-60% constant. i downloaded process explorer, and found i had about 14 svchosts running. the culprit was "svchost.exe(LocalSystemNetworkRestricted)". if i ended the process, wifi would cut.

To cut a long story short, I found a way to disable it, and wifi still works, but cpu usage is still at 50%. ran malwarebytes but it found nothing. any ideas what's going on?

Have you tried letting the process process what it needs to?

How long have you left it? Try leaving it for 30-60 mins.

the computer has been left for about 45 mins, and checking back on task manager, it's had flat rate 50% CPU usage and 804mb of RAM usage

Hmm. Probably something by Apple then. Even installing iTunes or QuickTime on a Windows PC ruins it.

Did WiFi work before you installed the drivers?
Have you run windows update? any updates for the WiFi adapter?

wifi didn't work before the drivers were installed, but Ethernet worked fine...

the wifi has drivers from broadcom. Driver is BCM43XX. all the other drivers are listed in Programs and Features as "Windows Driver Package" and then what it corresponds to. I'll run windows update and get back to you
