svchost.ece infected

Are you sure that it's svchost.exe that's infected and not SCVHOST.exe ? ? ?

Svchost is a Windows process and Scvhost is pox.

I can't remember, but I got rid of it, it was not a Windows file that was infected, just a bad file taking that filename being somewhere else.

And another thing, sometimes, my svchost.exe takes up 99% of the CPU. Why does it do that?

Possibly a Virus. Run edwido in safe mode and see if that helps.

The last time I saw a PC with svchost taking up 99% cpu, running spybot on it got rid of the problem. I dont know exactly what was wrong mind, I just know that got rid of the problem.

Nod32 is crap, never picked up my scvhost virus, I will have a look into what bledd. has said as I have/had this problem
