lately i have noticed on my laptop its been downloading a lot even when everything is closed, ive opened task manager an identifed the program doing this downloading "svchost.exe (netsvcs)".

sometimes it gives a discription of the connected end - a568.d.akamai.net and .akamaitechnologies.com

these downloads really slow my internet browsing down any idea what this program is doing? how can i stop it?

forgot to add, its running windows 7 home premium 32bit, has norton anti virus and ive done a full scan an come up with no problems

Other customers include Facebook, Twitter, AMD, Amazon.com, Adobe Systems, Netflix, Macys, Miles Kimball, J. C. Penney, Yahoo![9] and Blizzard Entertainment.

Any of that software attempting to autoupdate and install security fixes.

You need to find the process that the particular instance of SVCHOST is hosting.

Download Process Explorer from Microsoft, launch it, and hover your mouse over the instance that is downloading - it'll tell you all the processes it's running.
