svchost.exe problems

Hi, dont know whether anyone can help me but recently my pc has become really slow. Just loading windows takes for ever, and once its loaded the taskbar icons take even longer to load. I've looked in task manager and found a svchost.exe thats using 90% CPU and 114,00K Mem, surely this can't be right?

Anyone have any ideas please?

disable automatic updates, if you have no viruses etc, then that is what is causing the slowdown
