swap a duel x2 for an duel opty ????

Waste of time if you are at 2.6ghz with your 4400
an opty 170 with a decent stepping will get maybe 2.7-2.8

(there are some turkeys out there that will struggle over 2.4ghz and require near 1.6vcore to get an extra 100mhz to reach 2.5ghz)

what vcore is your 4400 at?

nar its not worth it tbh - uve got the same cache as the opty and 2.65 @ 1.5v aint bad and the odds of an opty doing better or equal isnt worth ~£240+ to find out imo.
Then again - if your rolling in the dosh & nowt better to spend it on, then fire away :P

Yes, I've heard they can't overclock that much, pretty much like the X2 4400+ we got now... only the 165 is really worth getting for the price you pay.

Nope - you would be better saving your money. My 165 clocks to the 270 HTT limit of my board which is 2.45Ghz. The 9 multi doesnt help either and the 170 is a bit too expensive to risk giving that you are already at 2.6+

iv also been looking at 175's about the same price as the 4400+ and are b oth 2.2 ghz what do u recon as i could sell my 4400+ for £300 easy another 50 and iv got an opty 175 but what will it oc like 2.8 2.9 ??
