Hi,
I've been driving my prelude for nearly a year now and yeah it's fine. I do a lot of motorway miles in it now though and the running costs aren't great but they could be worse. It's a '92 plate so I'm not expecting it to last forever and something major is surely to break soon. Now my parents are looking to pass on their Volvo to me. It's a Volvo S40 (2000/W reg) 2.0 Xi.
I heard the earlier S40's were crap but my dad does reckon he could get £3000 for it, its a limited edition with some really nice rims, full leather and carbon dashboard, you can see it here , it's also THAT colour yellow. The question is - could you get that much for it? They want to sell it me for £2000. A quick browse on Parker's says £2270 for a good private example so perhaps I'm not really getting that great a deal after all. If I could get as much as £3000 I'd just sell it on and buy another sports coupe. On the other hand the S40 would give me better MPG for driving up and down the country in.
