As in previous post I wanted to sell my Zafira and was working out whether it would be worth keeping against downsizing. I kept it.

I now have the option to do a straight swap.

My wife's friend borrowed my Zafira for the day (moving house) and in exchange, so I could still get to work, I got to use here Peugeot 307cc for the day. When she came back to swap back the cars she asked, would I be interested in a swap as she now has a child and wants a bigger car. She had a Zafira before the Peugeot. Her other half trades cars and says its worth a straight swap. He'd given it a look over.

My car,
Zafira 1.6 56 plate 50,000miles service history missing last years only. Due a cam belt soon. 10 months MOT.

Her car,
307cc 2.0L HDi, 92.000miles full service history, full MOT.

Both got age related scratches and chips. Both sell on eBay for similar amounts.

When I drove it I thought it was a nice drive and plenty of pull from the engine. Only thing is being a large bloke both round and 6'2" in my socks. I don't think I'd suit the car, to put it politely.

Its just a chance to get away from the Zafira with no hustle of selling my car then looking for a replacement.

Is the swap worth doing?

It's swapping one crap car for another if you ask me, the only difference is you probably know all the issues and faults with your current car - you won't on the new one.

Avoid.

No chance, the 307 is just woeful. The Zafira, whilst not being a brilliant car, at least won't be a potential unreliable pain in the arse potential money pit.
