try taking the mobo et all out and booting it outside the case? use your motherboard box ideally ^ see above RE static issues :)

He's set it up outside the case from post #13.

EDIT* Or atleast I think he has, just re-reading and OP hasn't stated that he has but has stated it's still dead after i suggested it.

Just re tried.

It must be onboard as this connector has vga input.

So I have 24pin,8pin connected

Boot drive - power and data

One stick of ram

And that's it.

I must have static damaged it. That's all I can think off.

Will have another tinkle, if not. Then it will be scraped/sold

Could be a PSU issue or CPU still rather than the mobo or static damage. I would try to test it with another PSU if possible and reseat the CPU if that's not been done yet.

Try without the hdd too, long shot perhaps the hdd has gone
As above try another psu or test the psu(the old paperclip trick)
even a longer shot maybe the power switch on the case is faulty, try just shorting the pins for the switch on the mobo
Just my 2p worth :)

But the case is different so it`could` be a dodgy power switch, frankly i dought that but ....worth a try
Also have you tried without a hdd?see if that makes a difference

The screw driver to short the power switch rather than using the case connector is worth a shot, worth ruling out as much as possible. Also it should go to bios without a hdd so this doesn't need to be connected to test the other parts.

Tried the psu trick. Psu works fine
Tried without harddrive. Still dead

Problem has got worse I think. As GPU fan and CPU fan don't even spin a smidge. But before they did

Will try the screwdriver trick now
