you can just swap it over.

if you know how.

simply remove heatsink, lift up the catch and take out the cpu, stick new one in the right way around, close catch, the new stock heatsink will come with thermal pads, so just stick the new heatsink on, and your done.

gpu will need new drivers to be installed. but will not require reformat.

Thanks for that very helpful. If I did a reformat would I have to redo the raid array or would that be untouched and all I have to do is reinstall everything. Only reason ask pc about 2 yr old and gettin a tad slow at start.

Cheers :D

Most important, make sure you see the gold arrow in the corner of the CPU look at your old one before removing it, then it should fall into the socket when alligned correctly, DO NOT FORCE IT INTO THE SOCKET

Sorry for the caps but it could save you a lot of money.
