Swapping hard disks between 2 MBPs

I have a user that wants to swap her MBP from a 15" to 13". Both these are new models. I dont want the hassle of having to set her up again so thought i could just swap the hard disks. Would this work?

You could try but I don't see why you can't just use the migrating assistant instead.

Does it work Mac to Mac?

Laptop exchange is happing in another office in another country so disk swap is out of the question
