Swapping out a GPU for the first time. Is there a procedure I should follow to avoid any issues?

Take your old card out, put your new card in, plug in the PCIE connectors and monitor cable. Power on PC, install new drivers.

It is that simple. Just out of interest what are you replacing the R9 290 with ?

Thanks mate, that's exactly what I would have done but it was worth checking. Is the AMD Install Manager enough to remove the drivers are should is there more thorough ways?

Someone is buying my 290 for a good price so I've put the difference towards an MSI 970. G-Sync is something that really, really appeals to me and I've never had an Nvidia card so it should be fun!
