Swapping over GPU

Hello guys, since I rarely get a GPU unless its when I upgrade which means new system and new hard drives and clean windows install I am not familiar with how to go about swapping them over.

I had a quick search and saw that "Display Driver Uninstaller" is the way to go but do I uninstall everything from the control panel first or do I just run this program ? Also should I really be in safe mode to do this ?

I have already downloaded drivers for my 1080 and they are sitting on my Desktop waiting, also do I have to install the experience program thing as I have seen a few people have had trouble with that.

As long as you are on a fairly recent driver, I doubt you will have any issues just swapping the card over.

They are 2 years old.

Uninstall them via control panel, shut down swap cards and then start up and install new drivers.

The question is, why were you running 2 year old drivers - even on old cards sometimes you get better performance with newer drivers

too much of a headache if things go wrong, I end up saying **** it and just reinstalling windows lol.

Got it swapped over, drivers installed.

Installed MSI Gaming App for control of the LED lights and it ended up adding over a dozen processes that were running but I dont know how it has that many since it was closed down after I finished modifying the color but still it left all of these running in the background (and more, this is just what I could identify as new)

Does anybody know of a non bloatware way of modifying the color of the card.

Frustrating they don't just do a basic app for that one thing as I already use MSI Afterburner for the overlay and they have no options to disable the rest of the stuff.
