Swapping Phones with Orange

So I've been thinking of swapping my BB Torch 9860 for the BB Bold 9790. Similar specs and all, only the 9790 has a keyboard. I've decided I'm not as big a fan of the virtual keyboard as I had thought.

Long story short, Orange are totally useless and can't help me. They won't replace my phone for the 9790, even though it's not an upgrade and I'm happy to stay on my current plan. Whatever.

It's been suggested that I sell the 9860 and buy a 9790 - swap the SIM card into the new phone, and voila. I've trawled eBay and mobile phone recycling sites and it looks like I'd have to accept a loss of between £40 to £80.

However, I am mostly uncomfortable with the fact that I've never done this before and don't know what pitfalls to avoid.

Has anyone successfully done this with Orange (or another service provider)?

Assuming your out of your DSR why on earth would orange or any company take a used phone off you and give you another one brand new one because you dont like it?

curve>torch>bold so yes it regarded a upgrade by BB

Swapping the sim card into another one phone is fine and will work as long as the one you buy is unlocked or on orange. Be aware any insurance will be void though with the network provider

You don't want to take a £40-£80 hit but exspect Orange too... lol. There are no pitfalls send the phone to the recycler they give you money a week or so later, voila.
