Swapping USB port, has it ever worked? an RMA story

Going through the motions with, Logitech atm to RMA my G600 and as expected in the reply of things to try before sending it back, "Try swapping USB ports"

18 or so years of experience and not once has this ever solved a problem for me.

I've done nearly everything suggested.

Swapped the left and right buttons via software to help identify a hardware or software issue. Swapped USB port. I uninstalled the software to test it, reinstalled the software.

Last 2 steps is to blast it with compressed air and try a different computer which I'll do at work tomorrow.

I'd guess it depends on what the problem is.

Occasionally my mouse isn't recognised in the Logitech software, unplugging the wireless receiver and plugging it back in usually works, or just connecting up the charging cable.

The problem was the left click frequently doing 2 in 1. When I swapped the buttons so left click was on the right click I noticed right click is double clicking too.

Well, it's been a few weeks but, Logitech has finally approved my case and are sending a replacement mouse, hopefully another G600.

Good result for being out of warranty.

Ah, and also, early in the process of RMA they asked to me send it back to the place of purchase which was the rainforest. I tried but they rejected my claim due to having the mouse over 2 years without faults and this is deemed fair use. What they did do though was give me £25 as a goodwill gesture which is just over half the value of the mouse.

Mouse has shipped and should arrive at work on, Tuesday, they got the road wrong but the rest of the address is ok and it's always the same UPS driver and he's here every day, should be fine. They've sent me a G600, same as I was using.
