Is it "OK"?

I swear sometimes in everyday life, normally as part of joking around with friends and family, but just find it so unprofessional and cringy when people do it at work.

It's normally managers trying to sound hard nosed, or even worse cool.

It's just part of the workplace now it seems but I have so much more respect for people that can just make their point at work without swearing.

I swear like a trooper in general conversation with my team, not if I'm discussing actual important work stuff with others though
Right, exactly this, just like I would with mates. There's likely something about being ex military, and still in a military environment, that exacerbates matters.

I suppose the only real hard and fast rule I have is to never swear if I’m dealing with customers (unless I know them well and we’re on a night out or something).

Aside from that, I’m one of the most foul mouthed people going :D

This...

Post covid our office footprint reduced a lot hence no more offices and all open plan hot desking, sometimes forget and then its like a sea or meerkats, heads popping up around the office :D

Sometimes it just adds flavour to the discussion. I don't swear often but sometimes just to make a point. The c word is between close colleagues (even female colleagues) when we're discussing something very passionately or someone we dislike. However that's very rare. S and F happens daily but not every other word. Sometimes it comes out without realising.

That said and somewhat contradictorily I barely swear. Since having kids I'm more mindful of my language.

In general I find the people don't swear when they are mixing with the general employees but do swear when in an office and the door is closed.

I used to work for an American company and all hell would break loose in the closed-door meetings. They were like a bunch of angry children. They would literally throw things at each other.

Context, we generally try to minimise it at work, especially around anyone not from the core team i.e. public, contractors, etc. but sometimes things are just that frustrating.

Ermmm, general in office no, out for a walk with colleagues, as I would at home.
it is totally dependat on what team the project is with, I have noticed for general level.
Personally its usually if i am having a bad day, though working from home so much its a none issue.

A colleague who is ex army was telling me how at his old job at Nexus he got pulled for swearing hah, dont think he realised how much he was though so toned it down.
