....or as my GF calls it, Rollock Bash!!

Anyway, does anyone else suffer from sweat rash?

I am a little embarrassed by this but I thought it was worth asking.

I am a very sweaty person when I exercise, be it when running, playing football, or even on long walks on a hot day. I get this bloody annoying rash on the insides of my thighs when my sweaty legs rub on each other (what I lovely thought just before lunch)

I have started wearing cycling shorts when I play football which has helped immensely. But I am off to the South of France doing some inter railing this month, so will be doing a lot of walking, and the last thing I want is to get sweat rash. I don't fancy wearing cycling shorts while walking, so does anyone have any advice on how to prevent it?

Thanks

loose fitting clothing so you can aerate your knackers, dry yourself well after showering or after your days walk. then apply some lovely talc powder

you could use an aluminium chloride based product. apply at night wash off in the morning, gradually you'll stop sweating. driclor should be available from your local pharmacy in roll on form and it will cost you under a fiver. be aware to restrict the size of the area you apply it to on your thighs though, it's not great to block all the sweat glands. apart from that there are sensible suggestions in this thread.

I get this all the time, I use a cream beforehand if I'm likely to get it, seems to work pretty well!

I also suffer from joggers nipple, now that's painful. Get some funny looks in the changing rooms when I'm applying Vaseline to my nips :p

Some good suggestions. Thanks everyone.

I think I'll go the talc route and just wear cycling shorts if I know I will be doing a lot of walking. I have started wearing playing football/gym all the time now and they are great.

Aluminium chloride I'll use as a last resort.

CHEERS :)

ps. I think I might go to the doctor as well as I just read that excess sweating can be a cause of underlying medical problems :( Better safe than sorry. I have about 4 things I need to go to the doctor for now :(

I get this, its a bloody nuisance. Got to go to my flat to get my lycra boxers which I forgot to bring home t'other week, been getting chaffing etc whilst going commando and the worst rash ever with boxers on at gym.

Im an excessive sweater too, I wouldnt worry about it, theres lots of athletes that are profuse sweaters etc with no medical conditions :)
jus get some lycra underwear if you dont want to always wear cycling shorts, H&M sell quite a few pairs IIRC.
