Sweex internal card reader faulty?

Hi all, was wondering if anyone had the same problem or know how to solve it. I just plugged in a brand new sweex all in one internal card reader, the USB on it works fine but doesn't read any card at all? There was no driver included and there's no driver on their website either.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Yep! There's only one cable, and it plugs into the USB port in the motherboard. Couldn't see any other wires

Can you use another device to test the cards in to be sure that they are not causing the problem?

The cards are working fine, i used them on me laptop card reader.

Its a SWEEX.

That in itself makes me worried that there are people that use this junk.

But anyway...

Are you using 64Bit Windows?

Long answer is HELL YES

Ok, well I have a couple of these things and annoyingly, The Fujitsu one did work in XP64 and also in Vista64 but then it seemed to die. I assume that would be fine in Win7 too.

The Cheap and nasty ones I have, are a cruddy make, I forget what make and they are fine in 32Bit anything but simply wont go in 64Bit anything... I get a yellow marker in the device manager every time.

I recon its the same with yours!

could be wrong of course, but thats my feeling.
