Finally got round to fitting my replacment copper top to my Apogee GTX and look at what I found inside!

Bear in mind, Swiftech boast that their anodization is of the highest quality possible!

On noes!

After reading the threads about it over at XS a good while back I wouldn't touch it with barge pole.

And they've the cheek to charge another £20 for the copper top!

Running 24/7 and less than a year. Coolant was water from a reverse osmosis drinking tap and Halfords Coolant Conditioner. The issue here is just like my SlitEdge - the anodization around the tap for the barb isn't good enough. Either they anodize and then tap (which would be unbelievably dumb) or they anodize afterwards and it simply can't take the wear that screwing in a barb applies. Either way, their process simply isn't good enough.

To make matters worse, when puttin on the copper top I've threaded one of the corner screws. I've still put it back in with only three and I'm bleeding it now. So far no sign of a leak but for forty quid plus the twenty for the copper top, it's simply terrible value for money!

Sorry to see this, but thanks for sharing this Mike.

All too many people keep bad purchasing decisions to themselves to save face rather than help others out. :)
