Is this worth getting over the standard Ultra? Are the VGA and chipset coolers worth the extra money? Also is there anyway to plumb the pipes in through a PCI slot rather than cutting holes in the case?

Or would I be better off building a similar setup using custom parts?

Thanks.

MCW60 is one of the "Big 4" GPU blocks: MCW60, Maze 4, MP-1 and Fusion Cyclone.

And the MCW30 is the best NB design around... because it has no design, its just a flat piece of copper, and thats all thats needed for the heatdump of NBs. Added benefit of minimal restrictivitiy.

Having said that, there are better pumps and rads to be had, though the stuff swiftech uses is very good.

Keep in mind that WCing NBs is totally unnecessary apart from on Intel 975x chipsets, and many third-party 975x mobos have terrible mounting on the NB and you risk chipping the die with a waterblock.

Nice word! ;)
Aww he edited it out :( :D

I don't think there would be much difference between this kit and a custom kit in terms of performance, though some people swear by custom kits. If it's your first time go for a kit though. I got my first kit (normal Apex kit) a while back and it turned out being much better value than custom, since all the extras were included. If you've got bits lying about already, a custom kit makes more sense.

Yes, my kit came with a pci thing with holes for tubing, however the gap was too narrow on my case for them, so I ended up drilling holes.

As Creidiki says, only get the northbridge block if its a hot chipset like the 975x.

There's a failry considerable difference between a Swiftech MCR-QP and a Thermochill PA, and an equally large difference between MCP350/655 and DDC-Ultra w. top inlet.

Its like the difference between a Nissan Skyline and a Ferrari, basically

Oh and no making fun of people whose 1st language aint english, and I wont correct all you native speakers, k? =p

The Swiftech kits are very good, deffo if its your 1st stab a WCing, everything you could possibly need is included. just get the normal kit and add the GPU cooler to your order.
