Does swimming make anybody else really hungry?

I have a big roast beef dinner, then tonight went swimming. Did 30 minutes constant swimming then hunger kicked it, i had to stop at the fish shop on the way home for a chip butty :o

This never happens when at the gym? So what is it with swimming, is there something in the clorine that makes you want to buy a snack from the swimming place?

idd, they put appetite-enhancers in the water so that you buy overly-priced food from them and they make more money :P

Its probably low blood sugar/glycogen stores. Same reason you can eat before going out drinking, sink several thousand beer calories and still require a kebab on the way home! :D

Lifting in the gym it can be difficult to completely use all the available glycogen because you use short bursts of effort with relatively long rest periods.
