Forgive the maybe stupid question,
At the moment im running 3 cables into my room from the router in the room next door-
TV
PC
HTPC
Also soon to be adding a PS3

this is a pain. what I would like to do is run 1 cable in and then split it so i dont have 3 cables going under my door, What do I need to get to be able to do this?

Any advice would be great and bring you much love :D

Cheers

DiCe!

A switch is what your after;

Your room:
Router
1 RJ45 that runs from the router to next room

Other room:
The RJ45 from other room goes into switch
5 port Switch (search for a Switch such as the Netgear FS105)
Plug all stuff into Switch

sorted :)

indeed as long as these are all standard ethernet cables all you need is a switch with enough ports in the room, run 1 ethernet from the router to it and then plug the various devices into that.
