Switches that accept a usb connection?

Not that i've know of, you are better buying a router/modem all in one, or a new modem that is wireless or better still just your average ethernet. I've never been fussed on this USB network lark.

There aren't many routers which accept USB connections, and most that do would require a specific USB modem anyway.

As said, USB and Networking isn't the greatest idea.

you could use a normal router and use, USB 2.0 Ethernet 10/100 LAN Network RJ45 Adaptor that are cheap to buy if you look about

No, these plug into the USB port on a PC to be used as a NIC, it's not literally a converter that you can just plug onto any usb device to make it networkable.

The only one I've ever come across is the Draytek Vigor 2200 USB Router - it was designed to use the provided usb modem with BT OpenWorld back in the day before 'wires only' ADSL was provided & using anything other than the provided modem violated the T's and C's

Only problem is it has been discontinued for quite a while now - you may be able to pick one up second hand via a well known auction website but to be honest you'd be better ditching the modem & getting an all-in-one ADSL (wireless) modem router.
