Switching between headphones and speakers

At the moment I've got Speakers connected to the mobo line out and then I use the case front panel to plug the headphones in/out when needed.

I'd prefer having both connected all the time and just switch between them when I need to using windows 10/11 speaker control.

So for example if I switch to headphones, the speakers will shut off and vice versa.

Both headphones and speakers use a standard 3.5mm audio cable.

I've got a MSI Z490i Unify, is this possible or do I need to buy an Aux switcher?

I use a SoundBlaster Z, have headphones and speaker connected. Just click a button to switch. Could get one on the bay for ~£30.
Don't have a slot for it on a mitx board.

I have a front audio slot on the case but as soon as I plug my headphones in the speakers turn off. It doesn't show up as a seperate thing in windows speaker icon on taskbar so no option to go back to the speakers unless I unplug.

Nevermind I just realised the problem is my case labels my front headphone/mic ports the wrong way round.

So I've actually been plugging headphones into Mic port which although it can output from doesn't show as seperate playback source.

So yeah all sorted now the headphones and speakers show up as a seperate playback devices.
