Switching from console

any advice ?
Honestly, stick with console if you want to use it for games.... seriously pc gaming is ludicrously expensive in comparison, especially gpu side of things right now if you want 'latest gen' stuff.

If you want to do other things more info would be useful, what do you want to do with it etc

Yes to be honest it's to improve my overall gaming experience feel at a disadvantage when playing against pc players in the likes of warzone an other games

While you could probably get a healthy PC for competitive gaming for your listed budget, I'm not convinced it's the best route for you to go down. I'll put a spec list together for you in a few assuming that nobody else does, but is there no way to disable cross platform for those games?

People running PC setups might well have advantages for a multitude of reasons, but that doesn't mean you'll be better by switching and in some cases there's people who simply cope better with a console set up.

I am looking to switch to a pc from xbox x and my budget would be 2000-2500 any advice ?

The good news is that you will be able to build an excellent PC within your budget. I would recommend you wait a couple of weeks for the AMD AM5 platform to be released and to spend most of your budget on the core components of your PC. Maybe look at a midrange GPU like the 6700/XT or 3060ti.

There has been some big news released by Nv today and most people will be very disillusioned with PC gaming for a few days due to the insane prices they are asking for what are midrange cards. If you look at current gpus then you will be more than happy because the new ones look like they will be stupidely priced. Once AMD release RDNA3 cards the market may return to sanity but the 4000 series from Nv is going to be a "special" time for PC gaming.

Not sure if you've done this or not but have you tried playing with a keyboard and mouse instead of a controller?

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,675.82 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Something like this could work, although it's an iffy time to buy as there's a lot of new hardware due to launch.

I'm almost certain that monitor was £200 on OCUK a little while back too, but don't quote me on that, great monitor for FPS games though -- if that's your focus anyway.

Honestly really not sure its worth it. I have all 3. PS5, SeriesX and PC 5900X and 6800, not bragging just giving context. I am a software dev and have all all kinds of hardware. Anyhow best gaming experiences for me in the last 12 months have been without a doubt the PS5. I play BF2042 cross play on both PC and PS5 and cannot say I am in anyway hampered on console. Maybe as others have said plug in a mouse and keyboard to the series X and see if that helps, I guess it will also help determine if you want to be sat in that position whilst gaming. I love my PC for other stuff and use it all week for coding but after sitting all day in front of it I love dragging a bean bag in front of my TV and relaxing.

I know everyones different and my situation is probably very different to yours but hey ho my 2 pence worth anyway.

This is a great build. Nicely specced and well priced. The sweet spot for value focussed gaming in my opinion.

My bad on the HSF, could have sworn it fit. Easily changed though, it is an excellent heatsink for £30 regardless. I've owned a few Alpenfohn products and they've all been fantastic.

Well pointed out. I know that cooler is good, I don’t know clang chassis that well.
Love that cooler Alpenfhon are great always try and recommended them in a build that's why I know it's 165mm tall when speccing but an easy mistake to make.

It's as tall as the nochtua d15.

As @Gray2233 said above its his fault, lol not that I have ever made a mistake
