you are probably better off formatting C:/ tbh especially when installing a major piece of hardware, alternatively just search for the nvdia driver cleaner and try that

Use the normal procedure, i.e. remove them in add/remove programs, then power down and take the old card out, put the new card in, cancel all auto detect prompts and install the new drivers you downloaded and you might be fine and not need driver cleaner or anything else (I have been :)). Above method is safer though if you can stomach the format ;)

No need to format etc its only drivers lol. And gfx cards are meant to be easily changed as there just add on cards. Just uninstall nvidia drivers turn off comp, swap cards, install new ati drivers when finishes loading up and your done.

For extra piece of mind do the driver cleaner pro stuff.

If worried at all about leaving any remnents of old drivers then run drivercleaner pro in safe mode after doing a normal uninstall of old drivers.

Use add remove

Then Driver Cleaner 3

then clear out all sub keys from here

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\

shutdown, install the ATI card, power up and install drivers.
