Hi there i am waiting to be switched over to BE* today.

Orange BB today (at its best i must say)

Be* BB today (first test)

I was quoted up to 11 meg from be* and was told i should just about 1 meg upload. So they havent lied. 11 Meg would have been nice!

Ok the review/story.

I contacted Orange on the 28th may asking for my MAC code as i was fed up with the service and throttling. After ONE hour, they finally agreed to send it! They said it would take 3 - 5 days. I acutally got it 5 hrs later.

Before i got my MAC code i had called be*. I waited no more than one minute in the Q and got through to an advisor who was very pleasent. I had also sent a customer feedback email asking for a call, 2 hours later i recieved the call.

On the thursday (28th) i ordered onlie with be*. The whole process was extremely easy. Once i has placed my order, i had acess to the members center. There was a traffic light system box, explaining 5 steps on how close i was to switching over. Red, green, amber and greyed out.

I had signed up for SMS alerts. So when ever the next step moved along i got a text, if there was a problem, i got a text, i also go emailed as well. ( All of this you can turn off)

Throughout the week i got my texts and emails. About 15 txts and and 20 emails. Always explaining whats going on.

Be* updated the switch on day 4 times ( they kept bringing the day closer)

Friday 5th june come, my switch on date. I was on the internet at 4pm then it suddleny went! 45 minutes later i got a text/email to say i was on Be* and i could install the software.

I installed the router and getting my pc, 360 and laptop took no more than 3 minutes. It was so easy to setup.

The only reason i have done a review/write up is becuase i am so impressed with be* Yes it could be ;) that i am a new customer and they wanna suck me in. But so far they have been faultless. Never ever had an experience like this and the service is second to none!!!

One very happy Be* Customer

Fair enough, but i do a lot of online gaming and orange have admitted to throttling me! And the whole service is rubbish. But its £4.87 a month lol

im paying £27 a month for orange :/
no usage limits, though they probably would throttle me if i did torrenting etc. get about 7.2Mb/s down and a measly 130Kb/s up. switching to bethere (maby o2, depends) on the 30th because they finally bother to set up the llus near me (330m away with 16db attenuation and 5db noise).

Bozebo 7.2 Meg for orange is amazing!!!! Go on the orange problems page on the net. And people like me struggled to get 3 meg!!!!

Yeah, I understand my luck ^_^. They must'v outsourced us ye-olde customers when they took over wannadoo, or there is something odd with my exchange because someone I convinced to get wannadoo a while back also got nice speeds... they then idiotically turned to talktalk and now have no internet, lol.

talk talk :S Yuk lol

My friend gets 976kbs Not even one meg! Just where he lives i think.

To be honest i count myself very very very lucky. I live in a small village with no shops, pubs etc etc. But Be* put in LLU :D

yeah their criteria seems to be "start with the south... and just leave the north for when we can be bothered"... overlooking aberdeen and dundee for so long is a mystery, both cities with extensive internet usage and wealth

I feel sorry for people who live in Scotland. I quoted someone 11 days before we could get out to her to have her windscreen replaced. She said if l lived in London when would it be, i said same day. So she mentioned why do i pay the same as everyone else. She actually mentioned internet. She paid like £20 for 1 and half meg and her friend near london gets 9 meg but pay the same :(

I think it could be that South is better  :p

wow, annoying >_<
well, i am about as far north as you can be whilst scraping the lesser costs and getting things on time (apart from royal mail, but who does get things on time with them?) my big boxes of ocuk stuff took just 2 days with citylink (or as we call it... ******link). My actual house is, from my best guess, about 20m away from the actual optic fibre backbone that comes up through glasgow, perth, dundee and ends in aberdeen... so thats lucky
