I'm using a bt voyager 205 router which is currently connected through USB. having trouble with p2p applications so I have decided to switch it the ethernet connection.

When installing the router for the first time I used a BT broadband CD and chose to connect through USB. I have tried using the disk again and choosing ethernet this time but when I come to the final screen I get an error.

I have the router connected through both USB and ethernet ports just now. In my connections when I enable the LAN two I get told a network cable is unpluged. It could just be a cable fault. I have two ethernet portsso is there any program I can download like VCT to test the cable between the two ports?

I'm open to any other suggestions you can come up with aswell but very tired, I keep typing thing wrong, and don't know much about networking anyway so can you try to keep it simple please.

There is a ethernet light on *** router but it's not on. Status is 'Network cable unplugged, Firewalled' not sure about the NIC lights as I can't see any. Both ethernet ports are onboard, one is 'Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller' and the other 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller'. Going to try the drivers. Will uninstalling BT broadband software get rid of them all?
