So time for a larger c: drive. I'm wondering if this is the best method or if there's an easier way ?

I'm going to give the inbuilt 'system image' a try to switch out to a larger boot drive. My plan is to use something i've not used in yrs AKA 'System Image' that was previously part of Windows 7 that's still accessible in Win10. Make a system image, then boot off a Recovery USB, switch the drive out and restore windows to the new drive. Finally, extend the partition to take the un-allocated extra space that the new larger drive will have and make it into one large c: drive.

Unless anyone has any better idea's. Because I am open to 'em. I appreciate there's plenty of ways to skin a cat, and i'm really not sure if this is the most trusted way to switch out your main bootable drive.

So to all of you who have done this recently, what method did you use and what caveats did you meet along the way ?

Advice appreciated.

I used EaseUS Partition Master Free to make a clone of my main drive to a larger drive. It does nag you to get the paid version during download and install but the free version clones and images drives no problem.
