Switching Sound

Hey guys,

On my Mac Mini I have my external speaker hooked up to the sound output on the MM. What I am wanting to know if there is a way to use either my Beats headphones or speakers, without plugging and unplugging all the time?

I'm not quite sure how you mean, I presume your headphones and speakers don't both plug into the same jack?

I know if you have multiple sound cards (think built-in and a USB one) you can switch the "output device" by holding the option button and clicking on the speaker icon on the menubar. This presents a menu that lets you select the one you want to use.

SoundSource will do what you're asking if I'm understanding correctly. If it is infact the jack swapping you need to er, automate, you're going to need some extra hardware.

A cheap and simple USB soundcard would produce nicer results than a headphone splitter.
