Hi all,

I'm on the verge of buying two of these 27" monitors, but having been using a single 22" 1080p screen for the last 3 years am a bit worried about the sheer size of such a setup.

How long did it take you to adjust to working with dual monitors, and would you recommend sticking with 27s or switching to 24s (probably U2410, but this would be at the expense of screen real estate).

(Also, what are peoples thoughts on the B276?)

Thanks,

I switched to 2 monitors years ago (and have even run triple monitors at certain times at work) and the switch is easy. As long as you can grasp the concept of being able to move the windows between the screens and that you full screen independently on each you will wonder how you ever managed with one. From my point of view there is no down side at all other than needing more desk space. Its dropping down from two monitors back to one that becomes the issue!

Personally I tend to reccomend splitting your budget differently when buying dual screens as you tend to have a primary and a seconday display. For a long time at home I ran a dell 2407-HC as my primary and a E248WFP as my secondary. They were both 24" screens but the main one was considerably better than the secondary as I didnt need the quality that the 2407-HC gave on both. Ultimately you can only play games on one and my second screen was just a work or films whilst working typing screen. Now I'm on a 27" rog swift as the primary and the 2407-HC has been demoted to a secondary for the same reasons.

I know some people like the symmetery of having both moniotrs the same and it certainly makes sense with triple monitors running eyefinity as you get the uniformity. But if it were me on dual screens I'd go for a cheap as chips 27" for your secondary and spend the extra on a better primary.

Hadn't thought about using two different screens, but the Acer is already pretty much the cheapest name brand WQHD screen I can find. And something like the U2713 would stretch the budget too far :(. Plus like you say, it's nice to have two of the same monitor.

How long did it take you to adjust to working with dual monitors,

About a nanosecond. Something for you to try is to have one monitor in standard landscape mode and the other in portrait mode. Portrait mode is incredibly useful for documents, and online forums like OCUK.

and would you recommend sticking with 27s or switching to 24s (probably U2410, but this would be at the expense of screen real estate).

They're 1440p so you'll be fine at 27".

Thanks for all the help guys, I ended up ordering 2 27s, first impressions... they're HUGE. But already finding the extra real estate useful. One problem though, where do people find wallpapers big enough to fill both (5120x1440)? All the sites I can find max out at 4k, and google images doesn't have a great selection.
