Hi

Am a total newb at anything cable and feel a bit silly asking this but....

Does any cable router work with fibre (which i assume to be the case) or are there separate routers for fibre and old style cable?

Only i hope to be getting FTTC soon and was thinking of getting this router
"Netgear WNDR4000 Wireless-N N750 Wireless Dual Band Cable Router" so just want to make sure its the right sort.

thanks

PS - anything i should be looking out for or be aware of in making the switch to FTTC?

You'll also need a VDSL modem. A cable router basically is a router that doesnt have a modem built in, or at least that's what I assume it do be.

yes - apparantly the BT man fits this as part of the install - so i'm assuming this router can just plug into it then?
