I'm thinking about switching to Be* when my current Virgin Media contract ends.

I am currently on 4MB Cable. I know my line can handle good speeds as every few months i'll get rouge burst of 4 or 5mb/s for a few minutes.. don't know why. :/

Anyway, if i was to go Be* would they be able to use my existing cable connection what VM used? or will i have to go ADSL? I understand the LLU which is basically a loopback to Be, just don't really understand the rest.

I am 1.37km from my exchange, i get 15/20 pings to uk servers on VM.

For ADSL you need a BT line. Then with an LLU internet service they just cross connect your line to the providers service, for calls etc nothing is dfferent.

Ah cool, but isn't ADSL just limited to 8mb.. so i'm guessing it'll have to be ADSL2, internet is normally good around here so if i did switch then i would be expecting 15mb+.

Be does ADSL2+, but it's still over a BT line. It's impossible to expect anything without any idea of how far you are from the exchange or how good the cable is.
