Swopping hard drives between Macbooks - all OK?

Just a quick question to confirm this will work.

I have Macbook 1 all setup how I want it, but am upgrading to Macbook 2 (faster CPU and superdrive)
I want to just take the HD from Macbook 1, and put it in Macbook 2, and use it just as normal i.e. no re-installing OS 10 - everthing will be exactly the same as on Macbook 1, just faster.

I have no problem doing the physical changing, I just want to check that OS 10 will not freak (like windows probably would)

this would work yes....

or... you could just use a firewire cable and transfer ALL settings, apps, users etc with the standard apple tools.

Yep guess I could do the transfer, BUT the HD in macbook 1 is bigger, which is half the reason I want to swop them!

Back up your stuff then it won't hurt to give it a try. Even if it did work, I'd be tempted to do a full re-install myself

should be fine assuming the motherboard inside both is the same etc
