Well, a rubbish day at work today, so as I always carry my camera gear in the car with me, so on my way home I thought I'd divert to my usual bird spotting haunt to see if I could find something to cheer myself up!
The weather and light were not brilliant for photography, but just being out and about and away from the computer and telephone was excellent.
Wasn't long before I found these little fellas...
Do you think one of them had noticed me?!
I watched them ignoring me as they busily preened themselves...
And then chuckled as one of them got a bit too enthusiastic and fell backwards!!
There was a lot of stuff about, but as ever, I was on the lookout for my mistresses the barn owls!
Only saw this one swooping in over the road to patrol a nearby field, and as it was a long way away only managed these two fairly distant shots, both a 50% crop. I couldn't get any closer (and my lens certainly couldn't!) and eventually it flew off up the river bank and didn't return, but I think it's nice sometimes to see a bit more of the environment they're working in...
Anyway, I arrived home a lot happier and relaxed than when I left the office! Hope you share a bit of that too with the pics above!!
